What should I put on my brick? How many characters can I include?
You are welcome to customize your engraving with any keyboard characters you like, and the special character of a heart is also available. The engraving will be in all uppercase letters in black. Each brick fits a maximum of three lines with 15 characters per line, including spaces and punctuation. To save space and for consistency, we will use “&” rather than “and.” Personalized messages are welcomed, but all brick inscriptions are subject to approval.
If your message does not fit on three lines of 15 characters, please contact us at [email protected]. We can help you abbreviate or discuss purchasing multiple bricks.
Where will my brick get placed?
Bricks will be placed in the main path to The Gardens, between the Wildlife, Fisheries, and Ecological Sciences building and the Event Lawn. The area of the path where the bricks will be installed is circled in red on the map below. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee brick placement. However, once installed, we can provide a map of the location of your brick. Once installed, they will remain for the life of the pathway.
When will my brick be installed?
Bricks will be installed twice a year in the fall and spring, however, you can order a brick anytime to be included in a future installation.
Can I order a commemorative brick to keep at home?
You may purchase a replica brick for $150 to keep as a special memento and decoration.
Your commemorative brick will be engraved during our twice-a-year installation times, typically spring and fall. After your purchase, you will receive more information about the delivery time of your commemorative brick.
Can I use my company’s matching program to purchase a brick?
Yes! Company matching may be used to purchase bricks. However, please check with your company to ensure this gift is eligible for corporate matching and defer to your company for specific guidelines. Please note that if you intend to utilize a matching gift to purchase a brick, more time may be needed to complete your transaction.
Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent that no goods and/or services were received in exchange and are used to support the Path to The Gardens Fund.
How do I order a brick online?
To order a Gardens brick online, you need to fill out two forms. If you would like to order multiple bricks with different messages, then please fill out these forms for each individual order and contact Angel Futrell Jaramillo at (979) 314-8024 or [email protected] with any questions.
The first form is for the payment through the Texas A&M Foundation Online Giving Portal. Be sure to enter the correct amount with regard to the number of bricks and replica bricks. As a reminder, it is $500 per brick and $150 per commemorative brick.
The second form is for the engraving team to know how many bricks and what message you want. The engraving form needs to be emailed to [email protected].
How do I order a brick by mail?
To order a Gardens brick by mail, print and fill out the Engraving Form, then send the form along with a check payable to the Texas A&M Foundation to the following address. As a reminder, it is $500 per brick and $150 per commemorative brick.
