In partnership with WELLNESS WORKS!
WELLNESS WORKS! is excited to partner with The Gardens at Texas A&M to bring you a gardening club! Whether you are new to gardening or a seasoned pro, this monthly Lunch and Learn will be a time to enjoy the beautiful Gardens while learning various aspects of gardening. The Gardens Manager and Texas Master Certified Nurserymen, Joseph Johnson, will lead the Gardening Club. Each session will provide you with expert knowledge and hands-on gardening. Participants are welcome to purchase lunch from the on-site food truck or bring their own lunch. Open to all.
Our first session is about Texas Superstar® Plants proven to give homeowners landscape success in Texas’ tough growing conditions. The Gardens at Texas A&M uses these beautiful, reliable species throughout the Leach Teaching Garden with minimal soil preparation and reasonable water use. Attendees will receive AgriLife Research and Extension’s full color 20 page booklet with information about 67 outstanding landscape plants specifically adapted to Texas.

9:00 am – 10:30 am, in the Garden’s Pavilion
Bring your little one, aged 3-7, to The Gardens and embark on a kid-friendly, hands-on, nature-based adventure! Each Hullabloomers class will bring science, art, music, and outdoor exploration together to engage your child’s natural curiosity about the wonderful world around them. Snacks are provided. A registered parent or guardian must stay with the child.

Join us at the Leach Teaching Gardens for an evening of Texas wine and vines. Enjoy sips of Texas wines paired with tasty nibbles while strolling through our wine grape vineyard. Learn about the history and wine industry in Texas from our wine and grape experts. Discover what to look for from the vine to the glass while you enjoy live music, libations and learning in a gorgeous setting! Tickets are $50 per person and include tastings and a full glass of your choice plus a selection of delightful appetizers.
