Plant-based, educational fun in The Gardens for A&M students.
Most classes will be led by Michelle Abney, The Gardens Education Coordinator. We will also invite outside experts from organizations such as Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists, AgriLife Extension, and A&M faculty.
From 5:00 to 7:00 one evening a week
January 13 to May 6, 2020
Classes will meet in the AGSV dining room and move out to The Gardens as weather allows.
A&M student groups will come to The Gardens for a fun, hands-on, nature experience. Designed for social groups of 10 to 32 people. We anticipate residence halls, corps units, FLO teams, and other Aggie organizations.
Potential Topics include:
- Leaf Disk Photosynthesis Lab
- Flower dissection
- Pollinator exploration
- Plant and flower nature sketching
- Plant propagation
- Edible container gardens
- Nature scavenger hunts
- Flower arranging
- Bird watching
- Nature crafts (wildflower seed paper, mushroom prints, flower pressing, etc.)
- Tree identification and measuring
Open to A&M students only (undergrad and graduate students). Classes for 10-32 students. Registration will close one week before scheduled event.
There is no charge to attend, but donations to Friends of The Gardens is encouraged. Suggested amount $5 per attendee.
Choose the date you would like your group to attend. Reserve the expected number of spots. These reservations can be adjusted up or down up to one week before the event.
